Wallpapers Graphics Animation Mobile Phones Templates Layouts Lord ...The festival of triumph of good against evil is noted during the Dussehra that is celebrated in India during October 6. This is a national holiday for the Indians, and most shops, businesses, and work are halted to commemorate this day. In the epic Ramayana, it is narrated that Hindu god Rama surpassed the evil Ravana and rescues his wife, lovely Sita. Dussehra celebration is not complete without the following symbols: bonfires, fireworks, paper, wood, and tika or red spots marked on the people’s foreheads. The festival features the depiction of Ramlila, the short version of Ramayana, procession of goddess Chamundeshwari, blessing of houses and work equipment and lastly, preparation of delectable treats like luchi and alur dom. People are also encouraged to burn effigies to remove or burn the evil and cleanse themselves while travelling to the path of truth and goodness. For most people, the importance of Dussehra festival lies in the willingness to live a life simple purity.
